Carpal Print

I made this print as a birthday gift for my little sister about a year ago.  She wants to be a doctor and is working incredibly hard toward that goal.  I could not be more proud of her.  I tried to put those feelings into a single piece of art.  I traced my own hand onto a piece of wood and carved out where I guessed the bones to be.  It had to be my own hand because she and I share the same bent pinkie fingers on our right hands.  The gold lettering represents the value of the words and ideas she’s learning and the overall piece is meant to assure her that she can always trust her big sister for a helping hand. Heavey handed symbolism, (haha) I know, but I’m proud of her and she liked it and that’s all that matters.
