Old signs

By way of explanation, these are older paintings and no longer an accurate representation of what I’m doing currently.  However, I am still really proud of them all.  These are all signs that I have found here in town.  The sign from the Chinese Palace is no longer there.  The whole restaurant, which was every bit as gaudy as the sign, was demolished not long ago.  It broke my heart to drive past the bare slab.

I love these old signs, I feel compelled to preserve them before they are found out and torn down in favor of something more modern.  I find a healthy dose of nostalgia is perfectly compatible with life in the modern world.  There’s nothing wrong with liking things from the past, just don’t be surprised when they fade away.
