Two Party Dresses

I need to be invited to fancy parties, because where else could I possibly wear looks like these?

“It’s Young Fashion!” – that hair though. . .

I don’t know if I’m am a classy enough person to wear anything as fabulous as these dresses.  I can’t help but imagine how these two patterns would look as Christmas dresses.  Red and white, green and gold, literal pounds of glitter and beads, the possibilities swim before my eyes.  Maybe if I wore white gloves, people would think I’m classyS 1153

I WILL make these dresses at some point, but I may have to crash an event to get the use out of them.  Though the tea-length Simplicity dress may lend itself quite nicely to an anniversary dress.

Both of these dresses take so much material!  View A of the McCall’s dress needs just over seven yards of fabric, to say nothing of the petticoat I’m sure you would need.  The Simplicity pattern looks slightly better at first with four and a half yards, but if you go with the lace overlay, it jumps up to nine yards!

  1. Holy smokes, that’s a lot of fabric! The dresses are gorgeous though! I’d need to crash an event to have an excuse to wear either one of them myself, but boy, would it ever be worth it! You’d definitely be wearing the most gorgeous gown at the event, that’s for sure! 🙂
