I love mid-century design, and I think I’m far from alone in that.  I also love those particularly American road-side attractions that are few and far between these days.  I have been to The Thing!  and to Roswell, thoroughly enjoying both.  (If you, like me, love this kind of thing I have a YouTube channel you might like.  The Carpetbagger has turned his love of road-side weirdness into a great channel and thanks to him I have a lot more spots added to my bucket list of weirdness I would like to one day visit.)

All of these loves, including my love of making miniatures, came together to create this sign.   I imagined what it would be like if Area 51 had been advertised like any other odd South-Western tourist trap.

I hope you like it, I made it a while ago and I guess I just never bothered to share it.  I keep meaning to build a little diorama or at least get a proper frame, but currently, it just hangs on my wall above my desk, because it is one of the few things I’ve made that I actually like to have on display.

So cute. I like miniatures too. They create another little world to enjoy.
